Mission Statement 

Our program strives to provide our students the opportunity to positively engage with the school community through participating in extra-curricular athletics. It is our hope that these opportunities will enhance a student’s high school experience by making meaningful connections to the school, their peers, their coaches and the community. 
                    
​                     Important Information

Required Forms:
  • All student athletes must complete a number of forms before they can compete for an Elgin Park sports team as per district and school policies.  These forms can be found under the "Forms" tab at the top of this webpage.
  • Please note that effective September 2023, all student athletes must complete the Release of Information form in order to be registered with BCSS and be allowed to participate.  This form can be found on the forms page of this website or in hard copy at the main office.  It must be printed, signed and returned to the main office prior in order to participate!                                                                                          
Athletic Fees:
  • What is an athletic fee?
    • All students on a sports team pay an athletic fee to help cover the rising costs of school sport.  There are four main tiers of athletic fees which have been calculated based on the cost to the school.
  • Is it a one time fee or do I pay for each sport?
    • Students will pay an athletic fee for each team/sport.
  • Where does the money go?
    • Athletic fees help us cover the cost of equipment, uniforms, officials, field/pool/ice bookings, tournament entry fees, and association membership fees (SSSAA, SFAA & BCSS).

Uniform Deposits:
  • For most of our sports teams, uniforms are provided by the school and students are therefore required to pay a uniform deposit.  When the team returns their jerseys at year end, money will be refunded via "School Cash Online".
  • For sports who purchase keeper jerseys, a uniform deposit will not be collected.

Payment:
  • All athletic fees, uniform deposits and team gear orders are to be paid online using "School Cash Online".  We are no longer accepting cash or cheques.
  • Please follow the steps outline in the attachment below in order to set up and complete online payments for student athletes.​

Eligibility:
  • ​British Columbia School Sports (BCSS) governs high school athletics across the province. They make all decisions regarding athlete eligibility. When a student enters Grade 8 and is registered with BCSS, the school they are registered with becomes their "Home School". Any movement to another school after the first day of Grade 9 will require approval from BCSS.

  • Depending on the circumstances of the move, this process may be as simple as submitting a compliance/authorization form or it may require a more rigorous application/appeal process.  Most of these can be completed cooperatively between parents, the athletic director and administration.
    • The more complex appeals do come at cost; some of which may be borne by the student in question.
